I think you're exaggerating somewhat. The text post option isn't hidden away, it's right at the top where everyone can see it. In a moving stream of information it's an anchor, and there's a button that is always ready to shoot the user right back to the start.

In fact, the text post is the default option. It's the simplest kind of post to make.

I'm not sure what you mean by auto-uploading pictures - perhaps you use an Android phone that automatically backs up your pictures here - if so that's only a convenient automation for a minority of users I would imagine. For everyone else we have to drag in images, which is certainly easy, but certainly not *easier*.
